Bravely Default 2: How to Beat Folie Pictomancer Asterisk

As you might expect, Bravely Default 2, like its predecessors, has many unerringly difficult fights. Most of the time, the more challenging fights are with those that will give you certain job classes, or other valuable items.

There is a particularly hard fight that many struggle with, and it is with Folie Pictomancer Asterisk. Whether you’re over-equipped or under-equipped, this fight is very difficult to emerge victorious from.

However, there are certain things you can do to ensure that you have everything in your arsenal that you need in order to beat Folie.

How to Beat Folie Pictomancer Asterisk – Bravely Default 2

In order to make things as easy and as digestible as possible, we will break down each of the characters’ builds, in terms of jobs, sub-classes, weapons, and more.

#1 Character

For weapon, make sure that you go with the earthbreaker, since Folie has weakness from it. As for jobs/classes, go with Berserker for main class and Beastmaster for the sub-class.

Active abilities: take Savagery for the main one, and Taming for the sub active ability. Passive abilities:

  • JP Up and Up
  • Bloody-Minded
  • Defensive Offence
  • JP Up

#2 Character

For your second character, you should go with a bow, we chose Angel’s bow. The classes that should be taken are Ranger for the main class, while Beastmaster for the sub-class.

Active abilities are what you might expect, i.e. Hunting – main and Taming – sub. Other than that, here are the passive abilities:

  • Solar-Powered
  • JP Up
  • JP Up and Up
  • Better than Ever

#3 Character

The third character is also a bowman, with the Quickdraw bow. The jobs we have taken are: Beastmaster for the main job, and Black Mage for the sub.

Like the first and second character, the ability you get from Beastmaster is Taming, and from the Black Mage, you will get Black Magic. Here are the passive abilities:

  • Solar-Powered
  • JP Up
  • JP Up and Up
  • MP Saver

#4 Character

Continuing the theme, the fourth character should be an archer as well. We went with the Angel’s bow, but anything would work fine. Main ability is Beastmaster like the third one, and the sub-class is Freelancer.

As for the active abilities, for the Freelancer one, it is Miscellany, and of course for the Beastmaster, it is Taming. These are the passive abilities:

  • JP Up
  • Defensive Offence
  • JP Up and Up
  • Solar-Powered

After that, it is relatively easy to beat Folie. What is important to note is that you should use taming to your advantage. That is the main point of the build.

Use other mobs for attacking, and tame the golems or tortoise. May you have luck in your battle, warrior!
