Hyrule Warriors – Age of Calamity: Rusty Weapons Guide

When you do Blood Moons in Hyrule Warriors, you will get something called Rusty Broadswords. These have unknown stats and they’re so rusted that you can’t make out its original shape.

Most of the players discard them, but in practice, that is probably not a good idea. You can refurbish these and sometimes you might get really strong weapons from it.

We’ll be telling you everything you need to know about rusted weapons, as well as how to refurbish them in this guide.

Rusty Weapons Guide – Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

The only drawback with these weapons is that they do take up inventory space. So, if you have many of them, they’ll take up normal weapon slots, and of course they cannot be used until you fix them.

From what we have seen, these do have the potential of being really strong weapons. But realistically, most of the time they will be really weak forgotten weapons.

How to Refurbish Rusty Weapons?

To fix these up, you will have to go to the blacksmith. After you do so, you’ll need to select the Octo-Polish feature at the blacksmith.

This is the process for refurbishing weapons in Hyrule Warriors. After that, choose a rusty weapon, which one doesn’t matter as much.

Now its time to choose a material. It is common knowledge right now that this doesn’t matter as much. Whether you use more valuable materials or cheaper, doesn’t make a difference on the weapon you can get. But that might not be true, so use your resources on your own accord.

Most of the time I choose flint to Octo-Polish. After that, I chose Bokoblin Horn as the second material. Lastly, for trophies, I used Lizalfos Trophies, something which I had a lot from, but you can use anything which you have a lot from.

All Materials Needed

To sum up, let’s look at the materials that were needed to Octo-Polish a rusty broadsword:

  • Flint x5
  • Bokoblin Horn x30
  • Lizalfos Trophies x100

Where to Get Rusty Weapons?

We’ve found the best way to get these forgotten weapons is to play the Blood Moon battlefield. For now, that remains the most efficient way to get them.

Unfortunately, this will unlock after finishing the main storyline, so you will probably have to wait a bit before you go about fixing up weapons.

If you have much more valuable materials that you need, you could try and see if different materials make a difference. It might be a waste, but you may get a over powered sword. Don’t hesitate to let us know!
