All of the video games that are out right now are prone to errors, issues, and server maintenance. Like this, Roblox has its own vulnerabilities. Since it is an only game, it must have servers to make online play a possibility. Any hardware is prone to failures and all of the software is vulnerable to attacks. So, what keeps happening with Roblox these days, why is it down, and is there a fix for these issues?
Roblox encountered a lot of server issues in December of 2020 and January of 2021. But what can you do in these situations, can you change anything, or are you doomed to wait?
Why Are the Servers Down & Is There a Fix for Roblox
Sadly, but as expected, the news is grim. When these issues happen, there is next to nothing that players can do. However, it would not be fair of me if I didn’t mention that every issue is a server-related one.
On the contrary, since these servers are made to be as stable as possible, chances are that sometimes you might get errors that are from your side, and not exactly server-side.
Check Server Status
Nonetheless, you can easily check whether that’s the case by checking the status of Roblox, on their official server status page.
If all of the categories are operational, then most likely, the issue that you’re having is caused on your system. In that case, you can proceed by troubleshooting the problem. The official Roblox status page gets updated every few seconds, in order to provide up-to-date information for players.
Roblox is aware that some games require consistent login streaks and play time for special rewards, so when issues like these happen, usually, your progress isn’t disrupted. If it is, the developers for every Roblox game are aware and you should contact them immediately if something like that happens.
At 30th of December in 2020, all of Roblox’s services were down for a while. The issue emerged at 4:50PM PST, and it took a few hours before the service could be recovered.
So, at the end of the day the conclusion is that if you’re experiencing issues, check whether is server-side, and if it is, there is nothing you can do except wait it out.
